Pages, device rows, layers and the inspector: how the editor is laid out and how to build each screenshot.
How the board works
The board shows one row for each store device, such as iPhone, iPad, Android phone and Android tablet. Every row has the same pages in the same order. A change you make on one row applies to every row, so you design a screenshot once and it fits every size.
Use the Devices menu to turn rows on and off. At least one row has to stay on.
Pages
Each page is one store screenshot. Use Add page at the end of a row to add one, with up to 30 per row. To change the order, drag pages, or use Move left and Move right in the page menu. The page menu also lets you:
- Duplicate a page.
- Give a page its own theme, or remove its theme.
- Delete a page on every device, or on this device only.
A project always keeps at least one page.
Adding elements
The side rail on the left holds everything you can add:
- Elements: phone frames, text in heading, subheading and body styles, shapes (rectangle, ellipse, line, arrow, blob) and a pen for drawing. Pick one, then click or drag on the canvas.
- Icons: an icon set for feature callouts.
- Uploads: your screenshots, images and custom fonts (.ttf, .otf, .woff, .woff2).
- Theme: the project's look, including the background designer.
- Layers: every element on the page, in stacking order.
The inspector
Select an element to edit it in the inspector on the right. Text has typography, outline, background and shadow settings. A device frame lets you choose the device, its colour finish and the screenshot inside it, and Edit screenshot crops that screenshot. With nothing selected, the inspector shows the page's theme, device and canvas.
Changes on one device only
Elements are shared across rows. To delete an element from the current row only, hold Alt as you press Delete. A device frame also has Frame on this device settings, so it can sit differently on a tablet than on a phone.
Limits
Each page holds up to 200 layers, and a project holds up to 20 languages. You will see a gentle warning once a row passes 10 pages, because most store listings show fewer screenshots than that.
